Mr. Thomas Quinn
Dear Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year! I’m Mr. Quinn, your child’s Diverse Learners teacher. This is my 8th year teaching at Acero, my 3rd year at Idar, and my 11th year teaching overall. I live right here in Evergreen Park with my wonderful wife Gina, our two energetic little ones—Lucy (3) and Tommy (1)—and our 14-year-old dog, Kermit, who thinks he’s still a puppy (he is… not).
When I’m not teaching, I’m usually cheering for Chicago sports teams—except the Cubs (we can still be friends, Cubs fans, I promise). Lately, I’ve been getting more into soccer, which means I now yell at the TV in more than one sport. I also love music so much that we’ll have a “Song of the Day” in class—sometimes it’s to inspire learning, sometimes it’s just because it’s stuck in my head. I’m a big fan of pop culture, from Funko Pops to movies to comics (I’m more of a DC guy, but I’ll still talk Marvel with you).
I’m excited for the learning adventures we’ll have this year! We’ll cover a lot of material, but we’ll make sure to laugh, explore, and enjoy the process along the way. My goal is for your child to feel challenged, supported, and to have fun while growing as a learner. Here’s to a year full of knowledge, curiosity, and maybe even a few surprise dance breaks.
Let’s make it a great one!
Sincerely,Mr. Quinn
